Discount brokerages lead with one number: a lower commission. It sounds like an easy win. Less cost to you, same result, right?

Not quite.

Commission isn't just a fee, it funds the marketing behind your listing: the photography, the social reach, the open house push, the follow-up with buyers' agents. Cut the commission enough, and something on that list gets cut too. It's rarely advertised which one.

So here's the question worth asking before you sign with anyone offering a discount: would they discount your marketing too?

Because that's usually exactly what happens. Less reach. Less exposure. Fewer eyes on your home at the exact moment it matters most, the first two weeks on market.

A lower fee that gets your home less attention isn't really a discount. It's just a smaller result for a smaller price.

Before you decide based on commission alone, ask every agent the same question: what does your marketing actually look like, and what would I be giving up for a lower rate?

Let's talk real estate. Give me a call, drop me a line, send me an email, whatever's easiest. Call or text me directly at 949.230.5508. I want to talk to you before you decide.
